When one hears the word fabric, their first thought is most likely something about clothing or upholstery. Although this is a true use of fabric, most of the newest digital textile equipment is used to post images and graphics on signs and banners. Fabric banners have a couple of very distinct advantages over other materials, and the aesthetic is overall more pleasing. Here are a couple reasons why fabric banners are considered advantageous over other materials.
Fabric banners have the advantage of wash-ability, durability, and are very light weight. This makes the product easy to store and even easier to transport. They offer a number of benefits to the user, completely eliminating the possibility of a glare or scratched finish ruining the overall aesthetic of the banner. While on the subject of aesthetics, the ink on the fabric is permanently bonded to the polyester fibers. This gives the photographic images a more realistic form because the colors are not printed on as individual dots (like inkjet printers). The sharper and overall brighter image is a direct advantage of using a fabric banner.
Fabric has a number of advantages over conventional outdoor PVC banners.
Key differences
We can use any weight of the knitted polyesters we have available. Commonly, we would use 110gsm knitted polyester as this has the most open knit structure and allows wind to pass through the banner reducing the wind load.
To make them strong, we apply reinforcing tape to the edges of the banners which is sewn in place and then eyelet through the reinforcing tape.
